"Very different."

Well … it has Sonic in it I guess …

I've heard a lot of bad things about this game and the reviews are flat out awful but being a Sonic fan I decided to give the game a go – only to be laughed at by others for “wasting my money”.

Yes, the game is different, and weirdly all the characters are wrapped up in what seems to be bandages.

Yes, a lot of people don't like the game and yes, I can see why. Being the Sonic fan that I am and playing his games since way back to the Sega Genesis console I can honestly say this is a lot different to all the other games in the franchise but it also makes it very interesting.

Yes I was a little disappointed in it and it wasn't quite what I expected but I wouldn't say the game is terrible. It's certainly a manageable game to play and once I got past my disappointment I was able to enjoy the game a little better. It is different and it's certainly a game you have to approach with an open mind.

Overall not bad – but not superb.

This game has the least balanced reviews I've seen in many years. Reviews are just flat out bad as you know.

However there are strong points to the game. There is a bit of variety to gameplay – what with light puzzles, more combat, some exploring and some fast sequences.

This combination of gameplay may not be what hardcore fans describe as sonic but I've always thought sonic does best when he has more than one gameplay element, and at least 2. Sprinting fast is not his only play style and I don't think it should be.

This game is not executed amazingly ie it is not a great game. This seems to stun people for if a game isn't great it then sucks- It was fun and entertaining for the while it lasted and I didn't come across bugs. It's got some slow down in fast sequences which isn't game breaking it is noticeable though.

I'd say give game a go if you think sonic boom tv show is okay and you're interested in seeing where sonic is today. Here, Sonic I think more so appeals to kids, rather than a divided fan base of older adults familiar with Sonic from the 90s. Kids might like this game.

It's not terrible, its not great, its good.
