Overall the concept of a 1/4 scale ode to the most iconic electrical & mechanical duo to ever grace the silver screen was bound to entice collectors to invest a small fortune in a man cave centrepiece, however for the price, you would expect both figures to be of high end construction, unfortunately although C3PO is a heavy, metal & resin master sculpt, R2D2 is a bit of a let down, not only due to his ‘cheap’ feeling thin plastic construction & lack of stability due to his third leg that collapses at every opportunity given allowing him to topple over, but also because you can see how Sideshow has blatantly cut manufacturing costs to maximise an already hefty profit margin. With the figures to one side, I must also say that I was extremely disappointed upon receiving my box in the post to see that it had clearly been opened and hastily reseated, once carefully opened see that the internal figure box had sustained a bit of damage from creases & dents, through to a small tear, not good, considering that the investment and ultimately resale value of such pieces is hugely effected by packaging/box condition. So although I am overall glad that I bought the droid duo, I'm a tad gutted that it wasn't as pristine as I expected it to be. I almost thought it could have been previously returned by someone else.
