The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 is a racing machine based on the production SLS AMG, which debuted in September 2009. Its long-nose, bobtail body design features gull-wing doors and a front-mounted 6.2-liter V8 engine. This particular racing car was entered into the 2012 Japan Super Taikyu Series of endurance races by the Petronas Syntium Racing Team. The team impressively took five consecutive wins at the start of the season on its way to claiming the championship title. The Tamiya radio control replica faithfully captures the shape of the real subject using a highly detailed polycarbonate body shell and vinyl sticker set. The chassis underneath the body is the entry level TT-01 Type E chassis, which is ideal for new hobbyists entering the world of assembly kits. The TT-01 incorporates full time 4WD and has double wishbone suspension enabling it to tackle any parking lot surface with ease.
Evolved Chassis – The bathtub frame of the evolved shaft-driven 4WD TT-01 Type-E has its motor and battery close to the ground for lower center of gravity and optimum balance. Mounted on the bathtub frame is a fiberglass reinforced nylon upper deck and gear covers improving rigidity, as well as a 3-piece tie rod providing a smoother steering action. The low center of gravity, great balanced design, 4 wheel double wishbone suspension system, and front and rear differential gears all come together to produce excellent operating ability. In addition, racing radial tires with realistic tread pattern are mounted on stylish mesh wheels.
