Love Ritchie and the boys. A must have metal instrumental album from good old NZ. New, amazing, original sounds that will have you playing over and over and then you can't wait for the next album. Rock on HMN!
See em live if you can!
Auckland band The Heavy Metal Ninjas, are set to release their debut EP, The Heavy Metal Ninjas on Monday, 5th March 2012.
With gut-wrenching riffs, pounding grooves and light speed guitars, The Heavy Metal Ninjas are a 5-piece instrumental band that capture a style of music that has been largely untouched in New Zealand.
The band who were officially formed in 2010 (the year of the ninja), are made up of Richie Allan on lead guitar; Quasar on stunt guitar, keys and samples; Joe Brownless on drums; Stu and Fran Kora, from multi-platinum selling New Zealand band Kora on rhythm guitar and bass.
With a live show that has ninjas with laser beams shooting out of their fingers, The Heavy Metal Ninjas have already wowed audiences by opening for local acts such as Kora and Shihad. In 2010, the group performed at the G-TARanaki New Zealand Guitar Festival, alongside guitar legends Slash, Jennifer Batten and Vinnie Moore.
Phil Howling, Warner Music New Zealand General Manager, says, “Warner music are very excited about the signing of the The Heavy Metal Ninjas. We feel privileged to be working with an unbelievably gifted group of young men, and look forward to big things with the Ninjas through 2012 and beyond.
