Review by Elanor on 9th August, 2011
2 stars "A comedy of errors...but isnt't this supposed to be a romance-"

For the first half of this book, I have to say that the dead body is terribly distracting from any possible romance. I could think of nothing more than A Weekend At Bernies, as it incorporated much of the same ridiculous moments where the body is hidden and almost discovered.
I did enjoy the second half of the book, which focussed more on the romance, with some interference by a villian. But the two halves could almost have been from different books, or written by different authors. All in all, I was rather disappointed and didn't really feel that the second half was good enough to make up for the first half.

This is the second in "New York Times" and "USA Today" bestselling author Lynsay Sands' sharp and witty new "Regency"-set series, --the follow-up to "The Countess.

Desperately seeking a husband . . .
Suzette is not like other heiresses; she wants a poor husband, a gentleman who will be so grateful for her dowry that he will allow her access to it so that she can pay off her father's gambling debts. When this alluring beauty encounters Daniel Woodrow-handsome, titled, single . . . and even more impoverished than she could have hoped for-it seems Suzette's wildest dreams have come true.
But Daniel has not been truthful. Tired of being accosted by an endless stream of vapid coquettes and their fortune-hunting mothers, Daniel has decided to plead poverty to stop them in their tracks. Yet here is a most refreshing and delectable lady, who claims to be thrilled by his penury. Now all Daniel has to do to find true happiness is to keep a little white lie alive . . . while avoiding a villain who's determined to prevent this union by any means necessary.
