I had not realised this was a kiwi movie! However most of it is shot in Europe with beautiful if bleak winter scenery. I am a fan of deep psychologically challenging movies and the acting here is brilliant and believable. However I have come to expect more humour, black or otherwise from Kiwi films. Overall a good movie with pretty difficult subject matter,great cinematography and acting but maybe too bleak even for me!
Shot in Europe and New Zealand, The most fun you can have dying tells the tale of young and charming Michael, who learns he has just a few months to live. Determined to have the time of his life, Michael “borrows” the money raised for his treatment and heads overseas. He is determined to be carefree and irresponsible, with no ties or attachments, everything goes as planned until he meets and falls in love with Sylvie, a beautiful and enigmatic young French woman.
