"Veronica Mars - Love. It."

Being a fan of VM since the very beginning, I couldn't wait for the third season to come out on DVD seeing as it isn't that popular here and doesnt receive a good showing time on TV. And while it didn't live up to my expectations, it didn't disappoint me – much. The first season was great, the second was astoundingly better, the third was not bad. You still get the witty banter, clever plotlines and (everybody loves them) the LoVe story (Logan and Veronica – epic). However the third misses out on the brillance of the first two seasons with much shorter story arcs – the main mysteries only spanning 9 and 5 episodes, unlike Lilly's murder and the bus crash which lasted a whole season (22 episodes). Veronica is less spunky and slightly more mean – in an unlikeable way this time. At Hearst College the social hiearchy of zip codes has disappeared and taking with it a lot of the spirit the show was famous for. While I didn't DISLIKE this new season, in fact I really did like it a lot, it just wasn't as good as the first two seasons – are they ever? My only major complaint was the way they ended this series. No spoilers, but I just felt like they could have given it a better send off seeing as it was the end of the show altogether. However the DVD features more than made up for this by celebrating VM and having the creator Rob Thomas FINALLY make a commentary, not to mention a series of his favourite clips from the show, his least favourite parts, the best LoVe moments and so on. This was really awesome. PLus theres a gag reel, deleted scenes, webisodes and much more. Score for the awesome bonus features. Final Conlusion – 4 out of 5 stars. Really great, just not AS great.

This series excels all expectations and leaves you wanting more. The really great thing about Veronica Mars is that there is always an underlying story which threads its way through each episode, keeping you hanging in for the next update. A whodunit with fun and flair.

We loved this series was a shame it was the last! This series keeps you interested and the episodes end in such awkward places leaving the viewer eager to see the next instalment. Packed with humour and excitement would recommend

Description

Hearst College, jewel of the Pacific. A citadel of higher education set amid rolling lawns and swaying palms. But since Hearst is in Neptune, California - and since Veronica Mars is among its incoming freshmen - you know it's also a noir netherworld of lies, betrayal, secrets and (of course) murder. Veronica, Logan and more of your VM favorites join cool new characters for a Season 3 of seething mystery and sardonic wit. College is indeed a learning experience as Veronica aces a crim class led by a hunky prof, solves the case of on-campus rapes that began in Season Two, and gives a grad seminar in sleuthing when two faculty members take sudden, eternal early retirements. Frosh year is gonna be freaky!
