After a couple of very average wrestling games Yukes has returned with a much improved product this time round.
It features the best roster in a wrestling game ever. From Macho Man to Daniel Bryan this game is a who's who of WWE history. Having Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, and the Macho Man will appease any fan of 80s and early 90s WWE.
The difficulty has been bumped up so that hard now feels more difficult than WWE 13's legend which makes matches against the computer fun once again. The AI has been greatly improved as well with tag team matches feeling like an absolute war on the hardest difficulty. I'm not entirely sure if this is a feature yet but I had noticed my opponents while in a tag team would try and isolate me in their corner a lot exactly like in real life. A lot more tags between AI opponents made things feel a lot more realistic also.
I'm a big fan of WWE Universe mode which lets you take control of the wrestling universe by letting you choose which shows are on what days and which PPVs you will be holding each month and their names. While this has been included in the last few games they have finally included the King of the Ring which you can choose options such as number of participants, and if damage carries over to the next match.
The story mode is easily one of the best ever by having an amazing scope of playing matches from every Wrestlemania with over 40 in total.
I had honestly considered giving this a 5 star rating but a bit more playing time is necessary to hand out a perfect rating.
