carnage.” Village Voice
“..an American masterpiece, one of the greatest films ever produced in the
Hollywood system.” Chicago Tribune
“Peckinpah's most complex inquiry into the metamorphosis of man into

awesome western to boot!” Film4

filmmaker's finest Oater – better even than the sparkling Red River –
it's arguably the quintessential Hawks flick.” Total Film

of its participants.” Radio Times

makes this a powerful and thought-provoking Wild West Odyssey.” Empire
