All Blacks Rugby Challenge previews

I've been following both this and Rugby World Cup 2011, and in my opinion this game is ahead. The graphics on this look amazing, and the player customization is very detailed. So this looks like a great option for everyone who has been waitng for a rugby game on a next gen console.

It's great to see a NZ company getting stuck into making a rugby game that actually captures what makes rugby great!

The previews hint that the player modelling looks fantastic, and the physics looks really solid doing a good job of representing the subtleties of rugby player's running styles and body positions preparing for and going into contact.

It's exciting to see intricate backline moves being pulled off and what hopefully looks like a smart tackle-ball system.

Throw all this into a pretty amazing looking Forsyth Barr Stadium with Otago taking on the mighty Turbos in the ITM Cup and it's all on! Way to go Sidhe!

Its great to see that the itm cup will finally be a playable comp. P.S actually the world cup starts in september, so the game would come out about a month before the comp.

I have been waiting 4 ages since the ea sports rugby 08 came out for the new rugby game I am a big fan of rugby and now all the new players are updated and the itm cup is finally a competition to compete with.I can't wait to get the new games when it releases.

@Mark I am assuming they will have quite a few national teams as they have reported that there will be 95 teams in the game and so far they have only told us of 45 of them (Super 15, ITM Cup, Aviva, NZ, Aus and USA)

I have chosen this game over the other for the obvious reason as this game has a lot more choice as in what to play. Instead of just world cup you can play leagues.

Rugby Challenge looks amazing. And if it sells well we could be getting RC 2 in the next few years! Support your local games developer Sidhe so they can build on what they have already accomplished.

Imagine RC 2 with more licenced competitions, teams and stadiums, further improvde animations and graphics, extensive franchise mode, “Be a Pro” mode.....the possibilities!

So until then, get Rugby Challenge and enjoy what looks to be the best rugby game to date!

This game looks great! I've been waiting SO long for a new rugby game. Rugby 08 was enjoyable but pretty terrible if I think about it. Finally we get an HD rugby game for next gen consoles and as a bonus it's made by an NZ company so we'll get cool things like bonus Jonah Lomu (and hopefully more legends) and ITM cup competition. If they pull this off I will be over the moon :D

After seeing the engine that this is running on and the competitions that are included the only downside that I can see from this title is the lack of any South African licensed teams.

Seems that Rugby World Cup 2011 picked up all of the international licenses for the teams and Rugby Challenge took whatever was left.

Still from early gameplay reviews and what's included it looks like the next best thing since Jonah Lomu Rugby.

If the gameplay works well then im sure it will be great.Have followed the video's on you tube and have been reading the forums on rugby Challenge website and it all sounds very promising to be the best rugby game ever released on console!

I as so excited about this game as it is the first decent game coming out on xbox360. I played the Rugby world cup rugby demo and didn't like the controls at all. Let's see if this one will be better when it comes out. This has got the super rugby and itm cup witch makes it great but don't have the South African licencing. I am even more excited that the release date is now tomorrow 26th August after just hearing Yesterday it was coming out on the 2nd september. I will give this a rating once I have played it tomorrow. I can't wat :)

It is very good to see that the ITM cup has been added to this years game as I believe that this was vitally missing from previous rugby games. It is also good to see in the trailer that the mighty Hawkes Bay lift the Ranfurly Shield which is also another nice touch towards the game. Overall I think this game is going to be great.

The All Blacks Rugby Challenge looks and feels more realistic overall compared to the Rugby World cup and good to see our own up their with the rest of the world. The character textures and game play make you feel you are apart of the atmosphere. Bringing in customization will bring endless variations of the game to play. I will be looking for this one

This is just like a REAL game, just bare with me. Think of Sidhe as the ALL Blacks with fast new and exciting gameplay to please the masses and think of RWC 2011 by HB studios as the same old gameplay from Rugby 08 but on SPEED. Don't get me wrong I played the RWC 2011 demo I noticed the difference straight way, but it just left me disappointed. Rugby Challenge is a complete overall from the ground up and lots of people will agreed with me that the gamer will be spoilt for choice from create a player or just variety of competitions there are. I am thankful that a NZ company will show the rest of the world how to make a proper rugby game and who knows if we get behind them there might be more in the pipeline for Rugby games made by them in the future. Buy Buy Buy Rugby Challenge become a fan you wont be disappointed.

I have been waiting for a rugby game i can sink my teeth into. And now it's here. I downloaded the world cup game last night and to be honest, I've played better platformers,but the All Blacks Challenge is looking very very amazing! I for one cant wait til it releases,and i'm sure anyone whos seen the preview will agree.

All Black rugby challenge is set to be the best rugby game of ALL TIME! The graphics shown in the gameplay video are stunning and the players look almost the same in the game than in real life. It will be compatible on Ps3, Xbox 360, pc and the Playstation Vita which will come out in 2012.

This is set to be the best rugby game of all time!

If it's as good as the tralier looks then it will be a hit, I just hope you can play with other nations other than nz and aus and have the correct names, well I suppose that wouldn't matter hugely i'm sure you could change them yourself.

ever since i upgraded from my PS2 to an xbox360 I have been missing the simple pleasure of going head to head with my mates in a rugby game (back in those days it was Ea's rugby 06). Whilst i would be excited to get some of that fun back it is a little off putting that the project is not being done by veterans of sporting games ie EA or Codemasters. An interesting release date (five days after the rugby world cup has finished) but perhaps the hype will hang around long enough for this game to sell a few copies. Despite all the good memories i have had with Rugby games in the past I think i will reserve a final judgement for when there are either more details on the game released or maybe even until i have rented it and given it a go. Only time will tell with this one

Just wondering it says that it has the all blacks and wallabies licensed to the game what about the other rugby nations like south africa, england, france, wales etc are they going to have all the right players too ----- oh and is there going to be the super 15 competition in this game too ---
