Astro A50 Wireless Gaming Headset Black (PS3, PC, Xbox 360) reviews

Bought these for my PS4, and they are excellent. The surround sound and game audio is so good you can hear the change rattling in the enemies back pocket on BF4 as they try to sneak up on you. Easy to set-up, great re-charge about 30mins charging last 4 hours. A bit on the expensive side but if you want the best you get what you pay for.

As the title says it took them a while to get it to me(Christmas time I really don't blame them) like an extra weeks wait.

Anyway AWESOME pair of headset, best money can buy. Sounds great looks great and feels great. I can now walk from my room to the kitchen cook dinner while on skype :D

Simple setup, awesome sound quality, however im not too sure how good the surround is compared to my Tritton AX pros

Great headset

Best money i've spent on accessory for my PCX&box360 yet! Comes in an awesome box good for storage when not in use. Straightfoward installation, make sure you get the firmware updates and resync the headset and mixamp together again afterwards for sound awesomeness.

So straight from the box to setup it blue screened my PC. After updating the firmware on both headset & amp unit, it no longer had functioning buttons. No off switch to turn off the headset either.

Spent hours trying to fix, should not have to do that for products such as these. Totally unnecessary stress caused by such a premium product. Persisting through reinstalling a few times finally made it work.

Putting aside all that disaster from the beginning a side, the design and overall build quality is excellent, when it does decide to work it is really what you pay for. The sound quality it provides creates joy and happiness. If it came like that out of the box, it would really be the ultimate pair of headphones hands down.

Awesome looking headset, unfortunate battery fault from the box making headset unusable, returned for repair/replacement.

After countless headsets being to small, to quiet or to fragile, this headset has hit the sweet spot for me. At first I was worried that the batteries would run out quickly, but they last for ages, I run out of energy before these things do(if only the same could be said of my cell phone!). The sound is great and the big cans prevent my big ears from getting sore. If you are thinking of upgrading your gaming set up, start here, it will give you a new appreciation of your old games.

I don't use my eyes when I game now because this headset is so accurate I can shoot enemies without looking.

First time user of a gaming headset.

Excellent detail with in game sound.

Only downfall the ear pieces are not leather the material used makes your body temp higher and a little uncomfortable

Bought them few weeks now and its good well done astro works well with my ps4 aswell :D dont need to spend more money on buying another headset for the ps4

So I bought these for my PS4 and the wireless range on these are pretty amazing. Audio quality on these are beautiful and warm, with a lot of bass. I love the 3rd EQ Mode due to the boost in mid and highs and with less bass. The sound isolation is pretty good too, someone was trying to talk to me near my room door and I couldn't hear a single thing they said to me haha. It is extremely comfortable and the play time is pretty good on these. I just plug it in to charge every night and it's ready to be use the next morning. The only down side to this headset is the Microphone. Voice clarity is not a problem at all, but the “Noise to Sound Ratio” is a bit of a disappointment. You will hear a bit of white noise along with your vocal when trying to record a msg to a friend on the ps4. I even tested this on the PC and gave the same results. Then I searched for some mic test on youtube for the A50 and all the mic tests others have posted show the same results as well. It isn't too bad as long as you lower your microphone volume so the noise level is lowered too. My friends hear me perfectly fine now on the ps4, so just lower the volume and your Noise to Sound Ratio will be a bit better.

Now the first set of these I got were broken and sounded horrible and Mighty ape did an amazing job on getting these replaced so great effort guys. :)

I might have thought these headset was amazing but my girlfriend has a Creative tactic 3d omega which sounds a lot superior but granted isn't as comfortable but not enough for you to care. So I guess that deflates my view somewhat as a cheaper headset sounds better but they are still a good headset and I believe these work with the PS4 and Xbox one which the creative omega I am not sure about.

So overall it is good and you won't be disappointed but it isn't amazing. It is lighter and more comfortable than the competition though.

The Reason I bought this headset was for its use on my PS4 and PC, little did I know I could make my PS4 Gamesound and PC sound (Skype) run through the headset at the same time!!. This was exactly what I had been looking for. Definite recommendation of a headset worthy of It's price.

These headphones have great sound for gaming and listening to music. The mic is good and skype convo's are a breeze. Also I love the wireless functionality, they are very convenient as I can get up and wander around without having to worry about cables. The range isnt great, they begin cutting out at around 8 meters away from the transmitter. All in all happy with the purchase and would recommend these headphones to people that can afford them and want a high end wireless set.
