Catching Fire (Hunger Games #2) reviews

I have always thought that sequels couldn't be better than the first. Catching Fire proved me wrong.

This sequel to The Hunger Games is the kind of novel that has you pulling back to take a breath and go, “How did the author think of this?” Everything I loved about The Hunger Games is present in Catching Fire. Characters so thoroughly described they start to feel like friends and a fantastical setting that is both real and sad. It has action, romance, horror, hope, despair and, most of all, humanity. Simply, Catching fire is more of the connection to the story that won me over brilliantly in Hunger Games. The 3rd and final book in this trilogy, Mockingjay, is to be released in August.

I brought this for my girlfriend and when she reads when she has a spare second. She is totally engrossed, not sure if I should rate as a 1 or a 5 (still working out if it is a positive or not) :)

Catching fire follows on from The Hunger Games, it picks up where the first book left off and continues the adventures. If you enjoyed the Hunger Games you will also love this one!

Catching Fire has accomplished what sequels rarely achieve: Being better than the first book. I don't know how Collins did it, considering the fact that the first book was amazing, but she has outdone herself with Catching Fire. The surprising twists in this book will keep you reading and you won't want to put it down. There is just something more in this book that I can't put my finger on, but please take my word for it and read this book. The Hunger Games had it all, but Catching Fire does it even better.

These books are very interesting. They pull you into the story its great. The third book is coming in august so definately cannot wait. Been hanging out for it for ages. Great read.

Suzanne seems to have grown in her writing skills since the first book and expands on the story in Catching fire, my wife and I are now looking forward to the 3rd instalment
