"An entertaining bridge between the first game and the sequel"
4 stars"

Avid player that I am, the book brings to life the world of Guild Wars 2 and sets the stage for the upcoming game.

The book is well-written and has a number of humorous moments to break the tension of the heroes' quests. The characters are well fleshed-out, although there are some minor out-of-character moments that don't really ruin the story.

Reading about the legendary group Destiny's Edge has gotten me looking forward to more GW2 news! And for the third book as well!

Recommended for GW players and non-players alike (would serve as a good intro to GW2). Don't miss out on the first book as well, Ghosts of Ascalon.

A great read for the guildwars fans that'll tie in guildwars 1, ghosts of ascalon, and the upcoming guildwars 2. Even for those who aren't familiar with the guildwars series, this book is a great read that'll immerse the reader in the world of tyria.

The book is written pretty much in the time of guild wars 2, so great book to read in anticipation of the game! All the heroes in the book are featured in the game, can actually quest with them etc ;) The book itself is almost constant fighting and battles! Lots of awesome combat and involves all the playable races, along with alot of others inclduing ogres and undead and the more monster type races. Very fast paced and there is always something happening! You will fall in love with the characters in the book, which is great because it sets the scene for the game!! :P

"Prequel to Guild Wars 2"

So from what I can gather the Destiny's Edge will play a major role in the storyline for Guild Wars 2 and this book certainly assists in greatly developing the characters when we finally get to meet them in the actual game.

For me personally, I felt that the second half of the book was kind of rushed. There wasn't much detail and it seemed jammed in. However vice versa the first half was excellent.

Overall this book is good as a prequel to GW2 but Ghost of Ascalon is better novel.
