The times (1820–1860) then in England, seen by Jane Austen, or in Oliver or in Les Miserables, gives an idea of the scenery, of lost wealth and remaining dignity and courage, or a turning into secret mischief while the heroin stays in complete virtue. Little miss Amy of the gentleman's Dorrit family shows girly weakness but appears with such an inner strength that it surprises. The London drab scenery of decayed mansions and the transit of the Gloria mundi carries an obvious hope for improvement of circumstances Eventually we are taken to the dream scenery of Venice and beyond In the 13 episodes of one hour each I find consolation and entertainment. Miss Dorrit is a beautiful girl

Excellent adaptation of Charles Dickens' story. Beautiful costumes and locations. Excellent cadre of actors. Highly recommended!
I enjoy all Charles Dickens stories, so glad to find them on D.V.D. Acting always good as is all BBC shows, and no I am not English Thank you again Mighty Ape.
Little Dorrit lives up to the excellence of BBC drama with enjoyable characters across the spectrum. We have just started watching the 14 part series and know we have some great drama ahead with Dickens discriminating and perceptive comments on the society of his day.
