To become a full-fledged member of the Black Scabbards, Quincy must pass the Apprentice Test and destroy a dangerous creature of the Otherworld. But as luck would have it, the creature only attacks children and the elderly at night. As Quincy embarks on his test, he discovers a terrible link between the creature and his mother's last mission before she died.
