As with all Peter Brett's books, a gripping, fast paced and extremely well crafted piece of work. Can't wait for the next one as the needed is the literary equivalent of the old black and white Flash Gordon episodes endings – a true cliffhanger..

TYo start i will say i loved the first two books. The storyline and the writing were good. i was looking forward to potentially my next big series to read. Unfortunately The daylight war doesn't meet those high standards that were set from the first two books. The pacing of the story, maybe it was the characters that he focused on. but i didn't fall into this book as i had his previous. also the title doesn't really represent the story arc of the book.
Peter V. Brett's books are some of the best fantasy novels I have read in a long time and this book is no different. I would however suggest picker up the other two books in the series first so you know what's happening.
The Daylight War is the next exciting installment in Peter V. Brett's new series and it'll keep you biting your nails right to the final sentence. Brett's characters are multi-layered and develop well through the series. The good guys aren't always snowy-white and the bad guys have a reason for being flawed. His settings are so superb that you can almost feel the sand in your eyes and smell the demon's breath. The only thing that disappointed me about The Daylight War is that this isn't the final book in the series and I now have to wait another year to find out how it ends.
Great follow up to desert spear – pretty hefty and plenty of action
