Totally enjoyed this book. Shared it with work colleagues and it put a smile on our faces – something good to come out of a very scary very frightening and for many, a very sad event. The one liners are classics … Definitely a “must buy” – and the additional benefit of contributing to a worthy cause “The Earthquake Appeal” is a bonus .

Ok… full disclosure… I'm biased. Biased, because I am from Christchurch and biased because one of the quotes is mine.

That aside this book is great for two reasons, in a grim situation it shows true human spirit to rise above the pity parties and have a laugh. A laugh at the situation, others and ourselves. Also the donation that will go towards the mayoral fund to help those who are having trouble laughing because they are too busy trying to find a loo that doesn't look the the Tardis.

Thank goodness those of us living in Christchurch still have our sense of humour and fun left intact, cos everything else is broken, sorry. munted. Especially enjoyed the toilet humour, cos truthfully, there is nothing funny about emptying a chemical toilet – ok, gagging and vomiting is a little funny.

If you haven't got this one you are an big pile of liquefaction! This book is so funny I cried! The quake is a tragic part of New Zealand's history now and this book is testament to the people who made it through and how they got through it.

After experiencing the devastating earthquakes it is fantastic to be able to read quotes from others who have also been through it and have a good laugh ! the hard part is choosing your favorite quote :)

Absolutely fabulous book. Have shared it amongst work mates and some of them have gone out and bought it too. Am now waiting for a part 2… And hmmmm a part 3 as well. Its the only way a cantabrian can have a laugh at our situation.

Very funny from front to back. Great for Cantabrians to have a laugh to and great for non Cantabrians to see what a sense of humour we have even after all we have been through.

I am originally from Christchurch.now living in Dunedin..I found this book great for a giggle and a pick me up…ive showed it to all my friends and seeing there face was priceless.. Highly Recommended..

Great as I knew it would be

I prebooked this prior to it being printed. When mighty ape received them, I received an email it was being sent the next day. Two days later it arrived, in great condition, considering it is a paperback book and could easily have been bent.

I found this little book very funny and some light relief for cantabarians.

Living CHCH I can relate to most all of the comments in the book. Not only does CHCH rock but it also shakes, rattles, and rolls. The book is awesome.

What more can one say – a fantastic laugh out loud funny compilation that shows the humorous side of an otherwise tragic event.

Laugh, Cry and have a great time reading this book! Great to pick up and flick through. Excellent comic relief.

I ws mildly disappointed with the book. I thought the website was far funnier, and I liked all the comments that came with the posts. But I laughed at the book too.

Very witty but if you a serious person some comments could be a little offensive for fellow Christchurch citizens.

Hilarious and well timed particularly as we are still experiencing aftershocks as in yesterday at 5.5. It achieves precisely what was intended and that is to
make a Chch person have a giggle or two or three. Can only thoroughly be appreciated by Chch people though. Good therapy.

I enjoyed this book is was a laugh at us Cantabs. Recommend it to all who need some lite fun..

You know you are from Chch when you buy this book and immediately want further copiesy for your friends and family here and overseas so they can see the diamonds on the debris too.

You stop using the term 'built like a brick sh*t-house Your GPS overheats with all the recalculating it has to do with the route you take And my favourite – You've had enough days without electricity already, so you plan to celebrate Earth Hour by turning your lights on

There is heaps more that will put a smile on your face, so help Christchurch and buy the book.

I enjoyed this as it was nice to see people pulling together with quotes to put in this book. It made a silver lining inside a black cloud.

For a person who lives in quake-ravaged Christchurch, this book helps to bring happiness back into our lives through its hilarious, yet so true, jokes. The great thing about this book, is that it is not only amusing but also some of your money used to buy this book contributes towards the rebuild of Christchurch.

This book was recommended to me from a friend and it really does brighten your day, we lost our house twice in the earthquakes and it lightened some of the worst moments and gave us something to laugh about. They are so true :)
