Hot Gaming Collectibles announcements direct from Wonder Fest in Japan!

By Ben

This weekend saw the Winter edition of Japan's bi-annual Wonder Festival take place. Wonder Fest is one of the biggest anime/game/sci-fi figure festivals there is. There are always some amazing figure reveals, and this Wonder Fest was no exception!

There were a bunch of amazing announcements for beloved Nintendo franchises. Firstly, one of the most perfect “Nendoroid”: figures imaginable, Nendoroid Kirby!

This is the kind of figure Nendoroids were made for, so look out for a listing on Mighty Ape coming SOON! Other awesome Nendoroids currently in the developments stage are Marth from Fire Emblem and Majora's Mask Link.

In other Zelda and Fire Emblem news, there were also some fantastic sculpture designs on display from the good people at Max Factory – The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Link Figure and Fire Emblem: Awakening Cordelia Figure. Both are due for release later this year, so keep on eye on the Mighty Ape Anime Collectibles page!

Figma also unveiled their release schedule including the eerie Silent Hill Pyramid Head Figure and baddass Metal Gear Figma Solid Snake MGS2 Ver. Action Figure. As soon as new figures are confirmed with our suppliers, they will be listed on our Figma page for pre-order!

Unfortunately, a lot of the great collectibles on show at Wonder Fest are “garage kits”, or self produced items by individuals or boutique manufacturers, which means they won't be available for mass market.

For instance, my favourite piece was this AMAZING Bell Tower Gargoyle from the best game of all time AKA Dark Souls. SO. COOL.

Keep your eyes peeled on Mighty Ape Collectibles for all the latest pre-orders and arrivals from Japan!
