World of Warcraft just went Free to Play! ...Almost.

By Andi

If paying for game time ever put you off getting into the world of Azeroth, or you simply ran out of funds to keep playing your beloved character, Blizzard have some great news for you.

In an upcoming patch, the ability to purchase game time with in game gold will be made available.

If you've got more gold than you know what to do with, you can now buy a WoW Token from your Auction House to be redeemed for 30 days of game time – no more buying subscription cards or putting in credit card details.

Conversely, if you're in need of some gold for some awesome new weapon (or to simply cover your repair bill…) you can purchase a token from the WoW Store with real money and list it on the Auction House.

Posting a comprehensive FAQ for all your questions, Blizzard seem to have really thought this one through – people can play without having to fork out their hard earned cash, while others can get hold of gold without going through less trusted third parties.

There's never been a better time to play, so be sure to grab your copy of Warlords of Draenor today and jump into the World of Warcraft!

See you in Draenor!
