Today we lift the covers off our shiny new website

By Dylan

The devices we use to browse the internet have changed a lot since we last rebuilt our website. Screens have got both bigger and smaller – and we own and use more of them. Our old website was becoming a little long in the tooth – so we've evolved to keep up. More than just a lick of paint – Mighty Ape has been extensively overhauled to provide a great experience on a broad range of devices from widescreen PC monitors, to tablets, right down to the smartphone in your pocket (our dedicated mobile site is now surplus to requirements and has been officially retired). We hope you’ll find the new site faster, easier and more fun to browse!

In addition to these cool usability improvements we’ve also refreshed our brand and company colours. You’ll notice an all-new logo plus a more neutral colour palette in the header and page templates. These changes make our products – which are becoming more diverse in nature – the centrepiece of the shopping experience. You’ll notice product images are bigger, and depending on the size of your screen, there will be more of them on the page. Mighty Ape is now home to over 450,000 products across 16 Departments – and our new site ensures all of them feel equally at home.

Your existing Mighty Ape account and all your orders have automatically moved across to the new site so there’s nothing for you to do other than pick your favourite device and go check it out for yourself. If you have questions or feedback about the site please get in touch!

As always we thank you for supporting us in our mission to be Australia’s best online shopping site! You choosing to shop with us is what allows us to do what we love and we really appreciate it.

Oh…and anything between today and this Wednesday and you're in the draw to WIN a $250 Mighty Ape Voucher!

WINNER: Jacqueline Bull

I have to say that the old site stood out to me as an unusually well designed example in a sea of otherwise awful UI, and am disappointed at the change to the pervasive "flat" design that is unintuitive in so very many ways. Unfortunately it seems to completely neglect to recognise the effort made towards ease-of-use and clear intentions (affordability) of the previous design.
