You've asked us for a long time for the ability to Add to Trolley from the Wish List – so today, we've
delivered! Our new Wish
List design also includes a slick new gallery view for easy browsing, plus a
nice revision to the UX of the priority feature. We think the new Wish List is
much nicer to browse, and we hope you agree!

You may have also noticed recently that you can now move items from your
Trolley back into your Wish
List before entering the Checkout. This is a handy feature for when you
decide now's not the right time to make a purchase, but you want to save the
product for next time.
Keep your eyes peeled for new Wish List features that will
be releasing later this year, including the ability to add multiple Wish Lists
(for example, a private Wish List for yourself, and a public Wish List for
friends and family).

We've outgrown our HQ in Rosedale, Auckland and this weekend we're moving to
our new home about 19 km away in Millwater. This is no small task, and is
expected to take us from Saturday to Wednesday, 7 February, to complete.
Here are some interesting facts about our new premises, and the move
itself:
- Our new office and warehouse is a massive 10,000 sqm
- We estimate that we can hold a maximum of 800,000 products in it (SKU
holding: 800,000)
- The building's high-end fire suppression system requires a huge amount of
water, more than the local supply can provide. We have two tanks outside that
hold 1 million litres each and act as a buffer for the sprinkler system.
They've been tested to output 20,000 litres per minute.
- The building has been built with the environment in mind. The building has
been built to attain green star rating of 5 and includes the following
eco-friendly features: rainwater flushed toilets, rainwater garden irrigation,
carpool parking, smart lighting systems to reduce our power consumption, and
provisions for solar panel power in the future.
- The move is expected to take 100 truck and trailer loads.
- We have a huge Courier Post truck and trailer unit arriving and leaving both
warehouses every 30 minutes each day for 12 hours
- There are 4 fork lifts at each end loading and unloading the trucks
- The move requires the use of 60,000 stickers to label the shelving
Shipping will be resumed from Wednesday, 7 February.

It's been just over a couple of weeks since Christmas and we've managed to
recover from all the mania that comes with it. As always, Christmas was an
incredibly busy period for us at Mighty Ape, and once again it's been another
record breaking season. We've looked at a bunch of stats
related to the Christmas period from November 20th to December 31st. In that
time we had over 1.8 million shoppers across our Australian
and New Zealand websites. Let's take a look…
If all of the products we sold over Christmas were stacked end to end they
would reach 53,866 metres into the sky. That's equivalent to
174 Sydney Towers stacked on top of each other. They would
reach beyond Earth's stratosphere!
At any other time of the year we usually have about 125 staff in our office
and warehouse. This almost doubled over the Christmas period, when we peaked at
over 200 staff!
During our busiest hour on our busiest sales day, we were selling as many as
31 items per minute. Our warehouse monkeys were kept on their
toes to get all of our Christmas orders out (close to
300 tonnes worth in total, the equivalent of
85 elephants!). The busiest day for our warehouse was Monday,
18th December where a product was being shipped out every
second. Phew!

Just in case you live under a rock and didn't realise, Friday last week was
Black Friday and was a record day for Mighty Ape. We received and shipped more
orders than any other day in Mighty Ape's history! Black Friday is the informal
name for the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, and is known
as a day for massive shopping deals; a practice that has caught on worldwide in
recent years including here at Mighty Ape.
On Black Friday, seventeen products were sold every minute at Mighty Ape. In
24 hours, we sold 13 tonnes of products, in the same volume
as 76,000 litres of water! Every 2 seconds a
product was picked, packed, and shipped from our warehouse during
work hours.
Games was our most popular category. Some of our top selling games include:
Call of Duty: WWII, Assassin's Creed Origins, FIFA 18, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Gran Turismo Sport, to name a few. In fact we
sold so many games, that if you played through the main story of just the top
5 games alone, it'd take 2 years of non-stop gaming!
