Star Wars, the iconic America Space Opera franchise created by George Lucas, is an adventure story of the galaxy far, far away about the battles between good and evil. Ever since the first movie released in 1977, it became the worldwide pop culture phenomenon. Star Wars also holds the Guinness World Record title for “Most successful film merchandising franchise”.
After the success of the first 6 movies – the original trilogy (Episode IV: A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back & Episode VI: Return of the Jedi) and the prequel trilogy (Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Episode II: Attack of the Clones & Episode III: Revenge of the Sith), the entire Saga Box Set was finally released on Blu-ray to celebrate the upcoming 7th episode after Lucasfilm was acquired by The Walt Disney company in 2012 for $4 billion dollars.
There are many side stories that were published in the Expanded universe about the adventures of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, but not many of them were adopted in the movies. The animated TV series was released back in 1985 from Star Wars: Droids, Ewoks, The Clone Wars, Rebels to the forthcoming show: Star Wars Detours. Much of the series was used in LEGO and video games.
