The RX-78–01 Prototype Gundam is a prototype mobile suit featured in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, a manga adaptation of the original TV series. It is an alternate interpretation of the RX-78–1 Prototype Gundam. The unit was further refined and entered production as the RX-78–02 Gundam.
