Description

The Victorians were enthralled by fairies and angels, and their fascination with benevolent spirits is reflected in their art. These full-color paintings from the 19th- and early-20th centuries feature Pre-Raphaelite, Symbolist, and Narrative works by such noteworthy artists as Waterhouse, Burne-Jones, Draper, Watts, and Grimshaw.

Author Biography:

Dover cover design artist Jeff A. Menges specializes in fantasy art and has edited books on the art of Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, and Warwick Goble as well as an anthology of Victorian fairy paintings.
