My 2TB HDD showed signs of dying so new it was time to upgrade. Purchased this (didn't need 2TB) after reviewing a variety of the cheapest 1TB SSDs avaliable. This was the best model for the best price – and Mightyape was open to Price Matching! Only slight difficulty with installation (my error forgetting) as SSD wasn't showing at all – but had to be ‘initialized’ in Disk Management and a Partition Created – then bam, all good! Fast as – Basic HDD transfer speeds were from 50–80mb, from SSD to SSD over 300mb (Used Teracopy to sight this). Excellent purchase – huge upgrade for my gaming re loading times. Highly recommend for anyone looking at upgrading to an SSD! Thanks Mightyape!

This is a great SSD drive for all computers. If you are looking at changing over to an SSD drive you can not pass this one by. Samsung have a great name in SSD drives is this is another one to add to the list with a great price to go with it.

I originally wrote a positive review of this product. I hadn't done any research into SSds in awhile and just had the mind set, any SSD is going to be better then a hard drive. THIS IS NOT AT ALL TRUE.. these cheaper quad bit SSDS are insanely slow once the small amount of cache is used up This drive has a 40gb slc Cache that runs at the rated speeds, so super fast, then after that it slows right down to about 50mbps.. thats half the speed of a hard drive. There are other drives out there that are the same price or even cheaper that dont have as small of a cache or suffer the same huge speed drops with larger file transfers.. if i knew what i know now, i would not have purchased this drive… With that said if you only browse the internet and use word, excel and nothing else… then you probably wont notice the ssd slowing down.
