I had an old WD Green 1TB HDD that was fantastic for storing stuff, but for loading games, it wasn't the best. This WD Black made loading into games noticeably faster, but at the cost of noise. It can get quite noisy loading certain games and opening certain folders that have a mass amount of files inside.
Overall its a good HDD for accessing stuff quickly without having look into redundancy options (RAID), although that would give you even more speed, its not worth it for games.
If you have your PC tower on the ground or not ontop of your desk, you might not even notice the noise, but for me, its literally right next to me with a window that I can look right into my case and see it. Its giving me that evil look haha..
I might look into a Seagate Barracuda next time though. I have heard good things about it, and its roughly $100 cheaper than the WD Black of equivalent storage size and speed. Just my opinion.
