Phone slipped of the couch onto the carpet and screen protector cracked half way up the screen, and this was on thick pile carpet.

Even with high sensitivity turned on my phone only picks up half my touches. In addition it claims to prevent smudges yet it smudges at the slightest touch. Worse than if it wasn't there.
In terms of screen protectors, you get what you pay for. Don't bother getting a $1 screen protector and instead invest into a quality screen protector like this one!
My main concern before buying this protector was the touch sensitivity- Once I put on the protector I enabled “touch sensitivity” in the settings and it worked perfectly. Picking up even the lightest of touches while typing and playing games.
Coming from a tech guy- I highly recommend this screen protector.
