Description

Big or small, a garden is an expression of your interests, personality and lifestyle. The smaller the garden, the easier it should be to convey this message. The aim of this book is to help small garden owners turn their outdoor spaces into beautiful, well-designed places that complement their lifestyle and reflect their own creative vision. Small gardens are no longer just about plants. Today they are places for dining, entertaining, bathing, exercising, playing games, even working. So whether you're a dedicated plantaholic, a laid-back leisure lover or a more private and contemplative soul, your garden has to be a place where you feel comfortable and relaxed. Big Ideas for Small Gardens shows you how.

Author Biography

With her life-long love of gardening it was only natural that author Carol Bucknell would end up becoming a garden writer. Carol is currently gardens editor for Your Home & Garden magazine and garden columnist for Next and Home NZ. She also designs residential gardens. She and Sally Tagg have collaborated on three books together, the two most recent being Contemporary Gardens of New Zealand and now Big Ideas for Small Gardens. Gardens and plants have been one of the main themes in photographer Sally Tagg's work throughout her career. She has produced several books on both, the two most recent being Contemporary Gardens of New Zealand (2012), and Seasons: A Journey Through the New Zealand Garden (2011). Her work regularly appears in the garden pages of many New Zealand publications. Botanical imagery is also the chief focus of her art.
