"Fantastic for early readers and preschool"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This has got to be my favourite Eric Carle book. It really helped my kids learn different colours. It is also very repetative, so much so that my 3 year was able to “read” it to his little sister. He had the whole thing memorised.

"My niece loves this book"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

We bought it for her since she has liked it at kindy etc., but she still loves it and it provides a great base for a song or something along the lines of that. It is easy to learn and teaches great things in a fun way so what is not to love about it.

Description

'Carle's books all have an educational element -- they teach about animals, numbers, colours and nature -- but a big part of their appeal is that they are not didactic or laboured, but light and entertaining. There's warmth and humour there too' Junior 'Carle's richly hued, collage-like art and gentle text will be comfortingly familiar to his numerous young devotees' Publishers Weekly 'Eric Carle ... has an unfailing magic. His gentle, glowing collages are satisfying for parent and child' The Times

Critical Reviews:

Kirkus Reviews UK Carle's first ever picture book whose success encouraged him to create The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Carle's magical collages dominate each double page spread, whilst repetition, rhythm and rhyme teach young children colours and animals. A fun book to share with your child.
