After killing off Buffy at the end of Season Five (come on – like that's a spoiler) we all cried out for more, and Joss gave it to us in spades. Yes, season six was a pity-me bore-fest in parts but it gets made up for with so many twists, turns, new characters, old characters...... Season seven is brilliant. How else could you draw a final line under seven years of living on a Hell Mouth then to do a season about opening up the hellmouth itself and facing the First Evil? (and that isn't a spoiler either – because we met the First back when Buffy was still in high school and wondered where it went when it just faded away after it's “drive Angel crazy” plan didn't pan out)
And, if you go back to the last episode of season four (the dream sequence David Lynch-esque masterpiece that at the time we all thought was completely random) almost the whole of the next two seasons was prophesiced. How cool is that?
Special features on this season won't let you down if, like me, you're an uber-nerd. The commentaries are hysterical.
Plus, picking up the boxed set $20 cheaper than in the stores gives you a warm fuzzy feeling of having snagged a bargain. And leaves $20 in your pocket to go towards the next set of Angel.
