The FAQ for this game says: Buy it once, install it and get playing What the FAQ for this game SHOULD say: Buy it once, install the installer, download it (roughly 2Gb), install the game, download the patches, install the patches, wait for the beginning of the month because the previous steps have chewed through your datacap, and get playing. Darkspore might have been worth buying if it were not for the fact that the physical media only installs the installer. After that, and assuming you have a large cap on your broadband plan, you can expect to have to wait a good 2–3 hours after inserting the DVD to actually start playing

Agree with the other review.. “Install and Play” is pretty much a lie, since you need to install patches etc, and most importantly, which isnt mentioned at all in the description is that an “internet connection is REQUIRED to install and play” Yet another fail from EA. That aside, the game itself seems promising, but probably not worth the hassle.
