Created as a celebration of The Grateful Dead’s music, Day Of The Dead is a vibrant compilation of covers presented by a star-studded line up and curated by brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National.
The compilation is a hearty and lengthy tribute to the song writing and experimentalism of the legendary band, featuring over 60 artists including Unknown Mortal Orchestra (“Shakedown Street”), Courtney Barnett (“New Speedway Boogie”), The War On Drugs (“Touch Of Grey”), The National (“Morning Dew”), Perfume Genius & Sharon Van Etten (“To Lay Me Down”) – with these tracks currently receiving radio play on New Zealand alternative radio and surging up the charts.
The compilation, spread out over 5 x CDs, will support the Red Hot Organization, with all profits going towards helping fight for AIDS / HIV and related health issues around the world through this wonderful organization.
