Dragon Age: Origins is an RPG that really immerses the player in a massive
world. The story really grabs you from the start, and continues along as you
progress.
The game is pretty big, having clocked up 30 hours of play with only 50% of
the world explored so far, it will definitely keep me entertained for a long
time to come.
The combat system on the PS3 is easy to use, being able to switch between
characters in combat and take direct control of them really makes or breaks some
of the tougher fights. Leveling feels natural, doesn't feel like you have to
grind to get levels. Enemies scale as you level, so you can really explore
anywhere at any time.
The only issue I've had with the PS3 version of DA:O is the intermittent
freezing. Apparently caused by the 3.30 firmware upgrade of the PS3, Bioware
are working on a patch to resolve this issue. Can be annoying at times, but I've
found it hasn't hindered me too much.
Overall Dragon Age: Origins is a very solid RPG for the PS3, lots to do, fun
to play and has an engaging story and characters. Definitely a must have for any
RPG fans.
