A very enjoyable yarn starring Tom cruise and Emily Blunt, doing what they do best. The basic ‘Groundhog Day’ type premise of an aliens vs humans war, sets up an exciting tale for fans of the genre, with plenty of thrills and spills to keep the viewer on the edge of their seats. A great wet weather watch in front of the fire with popcorn and munchies

Great movie, well worth watching, every twist makes the movie more interesting, if your bored and looking for something to grab your interest this movie will do just that. It starts off slow but even then he holds your attention.

"Interesting story but very repetitive and shallow"

The only parts of this movie that matter are the first 20 minutes and the last 30min. Sure there are maybe 1 or 2 important 5min parts in-between, but it is just a generic action sequence most of the time. Emily's and Tom's acting are really the only good things about the movie.

Description

Edge of Tomorrow

Edge of Tomorrow is a 2014 American military science fiction film on DVD and Ultraviolet, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, and directed by Doug Liman.

The epic action of Edge of Tomorrow unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Major William Cage is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission.

Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop-forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski.
