Christchurch alt-country band The Unfaithful Ways release their debut album.
It's been an unsettling road for the four-piece – the album was recorded
and produced at The Sitting Room studio which was closed down after the
September 4th earthquake. Then following the second quake on February 22nd, the
band found the only copies of their master tracks to be stuck inside the ‘red
stickered’ Sitting Room studio – fate unknown. After
a nervous wait of several months, the hard drives were miraculously rescued by
two structural engineers!
Staying true to age-old themes of love, loss and everything in between, the album’s honest sound features melancholy lap steel, reverberating guitars, boyant drums and haunting three part harmonies. While having a huge foot in tradition The Unfaithful Ways maintain their own path.
