One of the best interpretive singers to emerge from the 50s and 60s folk boom, Judy Collins has continued to record and perform ever since, even appearing as herself in the acclaimed HBO comedy-drama GIRLS in 2013. This new CD release brings together her first two LPs – 1961’s Maid of Constant Sorrow and Golden Apples of the Sun from 1962 – showcasing her delicate and unique singing style on a range of traditional numbers and one or two more contemporary pieces. It gives a fascinating insight to the genesis of the work of one of our finest female folk artists.
