There were big hopes for this in our house hold but alas, it was not to be. Much hype has surrounded the return of Matt Damon to the Bourne franchise. Here are my gripes: there is NOTHING new. You would be forgiven for not being able to discern this from earlier iterations (which were in my opinion far superior). The action is cut to shreds with little continuity. This is a shame as the actors train and practice extremely hard only to have their no doubt impressive performances reduced to almost single frame shots. For example; Does it really require four separate views over 3 seconds (count 'em, 3) for JB to access a subway car---. The story has no surprises. Try this if you watch this movie; predict the story line and the outcome then save yourself the two hours you'll never get back. I blame the cinematography largely for the poor look of the movie. The whole “hand held for realism” filming leaves you searching for anti nausea medication. It's not as bad as Transporter 3 but it's bad. Matt Damon acts well while the rest (including the great Tommy Lee) seem somewhat wooden mostly due to the lack of meaningful dialogue and ENDLESS walking scenes which I conservatively estimate make up 70% of the movie run time. I apologise to Bourne fans but this could have been so much better.
