5 stars "Heaps of fun"

This game is a great rpg with lots of quests to do. Theres always someone to battle while you roam the world. The graphics are pretty good and the gameplay is very well done. The storryline is very easy to follow and the game does take sometime unless you only do the main quest. Overall this is a very good game and i would definatly recommend playing it.

5 stars ""click", "quest", "run", "kill", "harvest"."

Hours of game play if you are a RPG fan. Very easy controls and fighting system, “click”, “quest”, “run”, “kill”, “harvest” is pretty much what you will be doing but the game has Hack n Slash elements with some great magic and a very easy leveling up system. The animation and graphics are also very good quality and proved itself with the engine used. Definitely worth the price to play! Fact!

5 stars "Awesome value for money!"

Really great game, awesome combat system.

Somewhat forgettable story but it definitely makes up for it in terms of game-play.

Spent a good 80+ hours on this game and even though I've completed the main quest I still haven't done all the side quests. I love that you can change your build at any time allowing rather than starting all over again.

Highly recommend if you are a RPG fan!

METEOR IS AWESOME!!!!!!

4 stars "Great Hack and slash swordplay"

Love this game, great story, plenty of action and the world you roam in is very colourful. (looks great on my GTX 750 Ti).
Gameplay reminds me of Borderlands except with swords.(lots of side quests even without the two DLC quests). I downloaded the DLCs for this game and after a little search on the web got them to work, have yet to play them.
Its a shame the developers have gone belly up as i reckon they have produced a great RPG.
I also have Skyrim and enjoy both games, I dont deem one to be better than the other as they are both RPGs. KOA would be the more “magical” world and definitely a lot more colourful.

Brought to life visually through the trademark style of renowned artist and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, Reckoning brings a new level of visual style and visceral action combat to the RPG genre. The game was developed under the leadership of Ken Rolston, lead designer of the critically acclaimed RPGs Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

  • Reckoning combines intense third-person action combat with deep exploration, expansive character development and customization, and immersive storytelling in an extraordinarily detailed fantasy universe.

Review by IGN
"…as much as I absolutely adore games like Fallout 3, Mass Effect 2 and Skyrim, gameplay in those titles simply didn't live up to the amazing standards set by their superb settings, narratives and quest structures. In Fallout 3, VATS was simply an excuse for its inherently clumsy combat, and for as much awe as Skyrim instilled in me, in-game fighting is sloppy. Good news, then, that Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning has come along.

Reckoning proves once and for all that great role-playing experiences don't have to sacrifice what matters most in any game – gameplay – while still remaining true to all of the minutiae that makes the best RPGs great…

I'll come right out and say it: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be discussed when Game of the Year 2012 rolls around. It has brought the conversation about what combat can be in the role-playing genre to the forefront and sets the bar exceptionally high for its future contemporaries in the genre. But don't let its competition-shaming gameplay lull you into think that that's all this game has to offer, because that's just gloss on an overall package that's bound to impress the RPG faithful.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning isn't the perfect game. Its random technical hiccups and inconsistent art style certainly holds it back from even higher levels of greatness. But no matter what you're looking for, whether it be amazing gameplay, immersive storytelling or perhaps a riveting new world to explore as you fully customize and re-customize your character at will, Reckoning has it all. And after I jump back into my own game to clean up all of the optional stuff I didn't do, I sense I'll want even more. And yes, so will you."

IGN RATINGS FOR KINGDOMS OF AMALUR: RECKONING (PC)
8.5 Presentation
Amalur totes an impressive story penned by one of the great fantasy authors of our time, and it takes place in a fantastic fictional world. It’s complex and hard to follow at times, though.
8.0 Graphics
Beautiful environments and solid animations are marred by fairly shoddy-looking character models. I wish lip-syncing was more on-point during dialogue.
8.0 Sound
Music is sparse, but the voice-acting is well-executed and really adds a great deal to the story. Characters have a lot to say, and that’s a good thing.
9.5 Gameplay
The bread and butter of the game. Reckoning sets the bar very high for other games moving forward, and is an absolute pleasure to play.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
I hope you have a hell of a lot of time on your hands, because Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will require all of it for the foreseeable future.
