"An infectiously fun cooperative board game"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

An excellent game for 2–4 people in which everyone must work together, communicate and plan ahead if they want to win! The game is easy to setup, the mechanics are fairly simple and the game duration is typically 10–45mins so I would recommend it to both experienced and inexperienced board gamers. The different player abilities (roles), randomised epidemic/infected locations and the ability to vary the difficulty level make every game different (and challenging) and ensures the game will still be coming out its box for some time!

"Whats this? You all work together??"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The first fully co-operative board game I have played where you all lose or you all win! Makes for a different spin on the traditional competitive themed board games.

As everyone can discuss and give advice on each players moves during their turn it feels as if you have involvement in the game throughout – even when its not your turn.

About a 15min learning curve on how the game works but once picked up the game flows nicely and a few games can be played in quick succession. My 10yr old loves this game and after a bit of explaining picked up the rules no problem

Due to the way the game is designed every game is different with random role cards and random outbreaks appearing. Tactics change from game to game depending on the roles being played and where the outbreaks are occuring. Enough to keep this game from gathering dust!

"A Gateway Game"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Ever wanted to get your family or friends playing a game that is a little more interesting than the tired old classic monopoly then this is the game for you. Pandemic is a game in which the player work together co-operatively, which is quite a unique gaming experience, in an attempt to rid the world of four diseases, you win together or lose together.

The game is built up on a few easy to understand mechanics that combine to make a rich strategic game, because the game is easy to understand you can get people to play it without giving up before the game has began, also because its co-op you get to their first game without advantaging yourself or disadvantaging them as you do in other game when you see other player's hands etc. The strategic element is something usually not found in a game with such easy to understand rules hence the description of this as a gateway game, after this game people may give more complex games a chance.

Overall Pandemic is a really intelligent game that deserves a place in any boardgame collection

"The best game"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I love this game, and everyone I know who I play it with does as well (Unless you have an ultra brainy person who takes over). There is nothing like when the adrenaline takes over and you race against the game to save the world.

"Awesome, but will cause arguments" Purchased on Mighty Ape

This “cooperative” board game is wickedly difficult & lots of fun. You need to constantly discuss strategies with your fellow players if you want any chance of winning, and things get interesting when 2 people are both certain their strategy is the one that will work.

"Cooperative game with an adrenaline rush!"
5 stars"

If you like cooperative games and ones that involve some nailbiting tension, this is the game for you. Played this for the first time with 4 players at the easiest level and although we did win, it was down to the wire. One more move and we would have lost. Absolutely addictive and everyone in the group agreed that we would be back for more.

This game probably isn't for those who are A-type personalities and find it difficult to play nicely with others, but other than that, I would say that it suits most gamers. And with relatively easy rules and gameplay, it may even suit non-gamers as well.
