Perfect Flaws is the debut album for NZ 4-piece Black River Drive.

The strength of musicianship & songwriting belies the relatively short life of the band. While Black River Drive might be a “new” group, each of its members - Sam Browne (vocals, guitar), Matt Stone (guitar), Mike Tan (drums) & Rusty McNaughton (bass) - have played over 1000 gigs in bars throughout NZ, learning rock & roll at the coalface, playing in bands for years.
Evolving into playing their own material has been a natural progression.

Black River Drive draw on a wide range of influences in delivering their brand of crunching rock & roll that reveals deeper layers with every listen. The band cite the likes of Metallica, Deftones, Helmet, Nine Inch Nails, Unkle, Fever Ray & of course Shihad & Weta as inspirational. Perfect Flaws was recorded at both York Street & Roundhead, working with producers Greg Haver (Opshop) & Chris Van De Geer (Stellar) over the last 18 months.
