I loved Jason Todd's character. I never really paid much favor when he was a Robin, but when he donned his villainous mask as the Red Hood, he is definitely one of my top 5 in the DC universe.
What got me hooked to the reboot “Red Hood and the Outlaws” however, was Kenneth Rocafort's art. By the jove, he is one great artist. The details, style, and slickness of his drawings is just superb. I've probably read the first volume of Red Hood and the Outlaws about ten to twelve times just to admire the guy's skills.
See that's my opinion of the biggest flaw of the volume two. THEY SWITCHED ARTIST HALFWAY through the comic. So there I was, severely disappointed, but I tried to not get distracted by the visual and tried to follow the story… But… Near the end… They switched artist to ANOTHER one AGAIN. I know this isn't rare in a comic book… But man… Their style is too different, that it affects the writing so much. The mood goes up and down and all over the place.
Anyway, this is still a good book. I'll recommend it, but I can't say I wasn't disappointed. There were many wrong turns, but the book is still quite the catch. Try the first one, and if you like it (which you will), see how much you like it and decide to get the second one or not.
