I bought this as a gift for my mum. She loves it and has already cooked recipes from it.

"French cuisine with an international, charming kiwi twist."

An instructing book that is inspiring, charming and nostalgic! New Zealand missed chef Allyson Gofton when she moved to France but this beautiful cookbook is a delightful diary and guide to her travels and food experiences. Carefully crafted it has a pride of place in my culinary library amongst Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey, Meena Pathak etc!

Description

Allyson Gofton serves up a slice of truly authentic French village life in more ways than one, as she spends a year with her family in a remote farmhouse in the Hautes-Pyrenees.

Part cookbook, part travel memoir Recipes from My French Kitchen transports us to the heart of all things French as Allyson chronicles, month by month, her family’s year of living in Caixon, a tiny village of just 350 permanent residents. If you’ve ever dreamt about living in France for an extended period or simply have an enduring love affair with the French, loved foodie Allyson Gofton’s latest cookbook is the one to curl up with. It is simply a joy to read and to cook from.

Peppered with recipes and stories from this little-known area of France, Recipes from my French Kitchen shares more than 50 seasonal dishes adapted for New Zealand home cooks, as well as stories of the people, places and culinary traditions Allyson encountered during her remarkable adventure.
