Ship out with the storied U-505
By any standards the U-505 was an unlucky ship for the Kriegsmarine, but she turned out to be lucky for the Allies. She was captured by the US Navy in June, 1944 while on patrol off the coast of Africa. Her codebooks, Enigma machine and torpedoes were all captured intact as well as the ship itself. Information gleaned from this classified capture saved thousands of lives. The ship is currently part of an exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Kit features detailed parts, display stand and full decals.
