Author Biography

Genevieve Knights is a chef, food writer and food photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand. Her culinary career spans 20 years, with her motto always being to gain the best experience possible working for the best in hospitality. At the age of 23, she started as an executive chef. By the age of 28 she opened the third GPK restaurant under the guidance of well known chef, restaurant owner and mentor Dominique Parat. In the years that followed she discovered a passion for food and recipe writing. Her personal website was brought to life in 2004 followed her first publication, Basic But Brilliant published by Penguin in 2005. As well as working as a chef, Genevieve continues to be busy as a food writer, stylist and photographer for many leading food companies and her writing has been published in Cuisine, Foodtown Magazine and New Zealand Golf Magazine. She annually publishes a foodie calendar and was featured in the celebrity chef cookbook East Meets West, a cookbook where proceeds were donated to tsunami relief. No stranger to television, Genevieve's experience includes working as an itinerant presenter and chef for the TV show Good Morning and co-presenting TVC's for Masterfoods. Genevieve lives with her husband and business partner Wayne Knights in the suburb of Parnell in Auckland's central business district. scones is their first joint publishing project under the name White Knights Publishing.
