When this film came out in 1996 horror films had been on a bit of a decline. All of a sudden, practically overnight, this film became a mega-success. With a clever-plot, a talented cast and one of the best openings to any film I've ever seen, this one is well worth watching for horror fanatics.

Scream is a movie that is not afraid to poke fun at the genre from which it comes from. Wes Craven is well known for his horror films, his most known is Nightmare on Elm Street. In Scream Craven knows that the slasher films are dead, and that most audiences aren't going to be scared of a murderer in a mask, or are they?
