"Not just another stock FPS in an over-saturated genre"
4 stars"

This game exceeded my expectations. When I first heard about the Syndicate reboot being an FPS (and saw the fairly lacklustre trailer), I thought it was a bit of a waste of a fantastic franchise.

I bought this recently, after some big price drops, and I was impressed at how much better the game was than I thought it would be, and how much more original it was. The single-player campaign isn't wildly original, but there are enough unique gameplay features and creative weapons that it feels like Syndicate has something fresh to offer a very over-saturated genre.

I think a main selling point is the large number of co-op levels. The mission-based co-op gameplay is unlike what anyone else is doing (it's more objective-based than Uncharted or Call Of Duty's co-op modes), and it's a refreshing way to play an FPS. The co-op has more in common with the original game, since you're generally operating in a squad of 4 with a set objective.

The game keeps enough links to the original that you feel like it's set in the same universe, involving the same companies, but is modernized enough that it doesn't seem dated. Overall, this game didn't quite get the credit it deserved; it's not just another stock shooter.

"Great, but buggy"
2 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The game itself is great, seriously great. It reminded me of deus ex and other ones, but with less rpg and just far more shooting. As well with pretty much no free will. The way is set and one can't really influence it. But it's alright, Graphics are brilliant, story good, gameplay great. Sometimes one doesn't need a free world etc. BUT one mayor thing. I haven't seen so many bugs in a game since a long time. One mayor one still hasn't been really fixed and the game crashes on PS3 and one has to restart just to crash it again at the same spot. Still waiting for a fix on that. It is a mayor game breaking bug and there are many more less bad ones, but still 2/5 otherwise it would have been a 5/5

"Great game, Awesome Co-op, Sick Sound Track."

Awesome Soundtrack with artists such as Skrillex Flux Pavilion and more, Co-op is spot on involving Team Work and other aspects that the ME3 Multi player Demo has not yet indicated.

"could have been great, its only good"
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I had very high hopes for this game, in the end it disapointed me, its still good dont get me wrong, but a good game is dime a dozen these days, it didnt stand out or leave an impression after id finished it, if you're a casual gamer you might want to check it out but dont expect an engaging storyline with interesting characters because it aint in this game BUT the gameplay is very solid and fun, co op is great you actaully have to work together if you want to progress, I think they should have spent more time working on getting the characters and story right though, overall 7/10 for single player 9/10 for co op

"PERFECT!!!"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Delivery – Perfect timing, Ordered on Friday, recieved by Thursday the next week. Shipping cost is reasonable, and the fact that I got a few games that I LOVE for the price of one at local retail (also one never being released in aus LOL) was the best!

Thoroughly recommended! Thanks MAPE!

"Another gimmick shooter"
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I wasn't too impressed with this game; in a genre, swollen to overflowing with shooters this game has no real reason to be bought, as many other shooters out there do the task better. Though it draws inspiration from the original game it is by no means like it.

Syndicate adds a gimmick to the game called ‘breaching’ which lets you hack your enemies chip to commit suicide, create a backfire, or persuade to change allegiance but this could have been taken further. Other than that it sits with the rest of the “Ok-Shooter” games around.

The single player game was monotonous, as boring as Battlefield 3 single campaign, though like Battlefield 3, co-op in Syndicate was where fun ensued. For me this game is a weekend rental at best. If you're a shooter fan you most likely have far better online shooters to spend time on.

"Fancy future crap."
3 stars"

Fancy futuristic crap. The price should match that of the PC and Xbox 360…

"Another FPS to try."
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

In the near future (2017) a product called DART is invented, which makes all previous communication devices obsolete.

Visually, the game looks great. In it's lighting and graphics style, it's similar to something like Killzone, but the bloom effects and some of the lighting are a bit intense. I didn't notice the problems very much though. The guns sound great and powerful, and each weapon has it's own unique style to it.

Singleplayer felt short but fun to play through. The main fun though was multiplayer with 3 other people. Instead of the classic deathmatch or team death match, you are playing co-op with other people which makes the experience fun to blast through.

This is a fantastic game. The cut away scenes give a rich gaming experience.
