1 stars "could have been great, its only good"

I had very high hopes for this game, in the end it disapointed me, its still good dont get me wrong, but a good game is dime a dozen these days, it didnt stand out or leave an impression after id finished it, if you're a casual gamer you might want to check it out but dont expect an engaging storyline with interesting characters because it aint in this game BUT the gameplay is very solid and fun, co op is great you actaully have to work together if you want to progress, I think they should have spent more time working on getting the characters and story right though, overall 7/10 for single player 9/10 for co op

4 stars "Not just another stock FPS in an over-saturated genre"

This game exceeded my expectations. When I first heard about the Syndicate reboot being an FPS (and saw the fairly lacklustre trailer), I thought it was a bit of a waste of a fantastic franchise.

I bought this recently, after some big price drops, and I was impressed at how much better the game was than I thought it would be, and how much more original it was. The single-player campaign isn't wildly original, but there are enough unique gameplay features and creative weapons that it feels like Syndicate has something fresh to offer a very over-saturated genre.

I think a main selling point is the large number of co-op levels. The mission-based co-op gameplay is unlike what anyone else is doing (it's more objective-based than Uncharted or Call Of Duty's co-op modes), and it's a refreshing way to play an FPS. The co-op has more in common with the original game, since you're generally operating in a squad of 4 with a set objective.

The game keeps enough links to the original that you feel like it's set in the same universe, involving the same companies, but is modernized enough that it doesn't seem dated. Overall, this game didn't quite get the credit it deserved; it's not just another stock shooter.

3 stars "Fancy future crap."

Fancy futuristic crap. The price should match that of the PC and Xbox 360…

4 stars "Another FPS to try."

In the near future (2017) a product called DART is invented, which makes all previous communication devices obsolete.

Visually, the game looks great. In it's lighting and graphics style, it's similar to something like Killzone, but the bloom effects and some of the lighting are a bit intense. I didn't notice the problems very much though. The guns sound great and powerful, and each weapon has it's own unique style to it.

Singleplayer felt short but fun to play through. The main fun though was multiplayer with 3 other people. Instead of the classic deathmatch or team death match, you are playing co-op with other people which makes the experience fun to blast through.

5 stars "Awesome game"

This is a fantastic game. The cut away scenes give a rich gaming experience.

“Fantastic, nail-biting cooperative play…” Gamespot 7.5/10

In single-player, embark on a unique sci-fi shooter adventure of corruption and revenge, as you utilize DART 6 chip-enhanced technology to breech, manipulate and control the wired world. Or form your own Syndicate in four-player co-op and dominate nine action-packed missions inspired by the original Syndicate game.

“…Come to it for the thrills of joining a team and mowing down gunners like so many weeds in a Colorado research facility. Come to it for a chilly vision of the future, where the minds of meddlers can be altered with a simple computer program. There are numerous games better at providing single-player satisfaction, however, and this is where Syndicate falters. While it isn't entirely successful, the campaign still dares to be different. And while "different” isn't the same as “great,” Syndicate reminds you that with a bit of creative effort, shooters don't have to play by Modern Warfare rules to be truly modern." 7.5/10 – Gamespot

Syndicate is a really cool game that shines through its great co-op modes. The singleplayer is great, but the multiplayer is where its at. Beware for an action overdose.” 8.5/10 XGN

“Right from the start, you feel like a demigod, dispatching enemies with ease thanks to an overpowered arsenal and a whole bunch of ‘breaching’ powers that let you slow time, enhance damage and decrease ouchies from incoming bullets.” 9/10 Playstation Official Mag Aus

“A solid shooter with relatively interesting unique features, Syndicate's co-op outshines the otherwise lackluster single-player campaign.” 7.5/10 Playstation Universe
