As a devoted Terry Pratchett fan this movie is a good interpretation of the book with casting being excellent. I would recommend it to anyone
Darkly humorous mini series.
A true and well-adapted two-part cinematic depiction of the most-shoplifted author in Britain's modern works.
I bought this for my father, who is a serious Pratchett fan (has a bookshelf-shrine devoted to them), and hoped that it would live up to the books in his eyes. It did.
After watching it, I can see why. Although some of the special effects (Golems) were a little low budget, the story is fast-paced, meaningful and scripted more or less like one of the Author's stage adaptations. It was a hilarious surprise to see actors such as Charles Dance (Twyin Lannister) and Andrew Sachs (Manuel from Fawlty towers) popping in from time to time and give good performances. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film.
Terry Pratchett's enthralling story-telling is portrayed in this D.V.D with an engrossing realism. This wonderful story is handled expertley, well acted & completely involving.
A great well cast set of characters and terrific interpretation of the story. A must buy if you like watching stuff with your teenagers and others as a family evening.
Its a very easy to follow for all novices being introduced to the disc world. Very entertaining.
