The Colours of Chrisŕrnas is the brand new album from John Rutter, the prolific British composer who is synonymous with this time of year for hundreds of thousands of choral singers and listeners across the world.
His notable arrangemenœ of some ofthe best-loved Christmas carols alongside his own original contributions to the carol book herald the start of the festive season for many.
The highlight ofthe album is the title track which is the world premiere
recording of this new Rutter carol. It also features brand new orchestrations of
Ding Dong Merrily on High and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, as well as entirely
new recordings of other time-honoured
favorites, all presented in Rutter's inimitable style.
Featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bach Choir with guest artists Over The Bridge (a close-harmony vocal group from King's College, Cambridge) the carols are conducted by Rutter in his own interpretations.
This is the perfect way to round off a lankmark year for John Rutter after he was commissioned to write an anthem for the biggest event of 2011 – the Royal Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
