The Day of the Siege: September 1683 (Italian: 11 Settembre 1683, Polish title: Bitwa pod Wiedniem, literally: “The Battle of Vienna”) is a 2012 English-language Polish and Italian fictional historical war drama based on the 1683 Battle of Vienna.
Historical epic based around the 1683 Battle of Vienna which is seen by many as a key event in the development of Western civilisation. The battle began on September 11 and saw the advancing forces of the Ottoman Empire take on those mustered by the Holy Roman Empire and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in a bid to defend Vienna.
Could the troops commanded by the Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I, his advisor Marco d'Aviano and the Polish King Jan III Sobieski repel the attack on Europe?
